Introduction to the Fundación Colombo-Británica

Hi everyone, thanks for visiting us! Here's some information about the Fundación:

What is the Fundación Colombo-Británica?
• The Fundación Colombo-Británica has been running a day nursery for underprivileged children in Bogota since 1977.
• Currently, 127 deprived children aged 3-5 from vulnerable sections of the community use the Nursery’s day care facilities.
What does the Fundación provide?
• Preschool children are given a stable, secure and stimulating start in life.
• They receive three nutritious meals a day, which is an especially enormous help to the great number of children who arrive suffering from malnutrition.
• They participate in activities such as music, dancing, crafts, indoor recreation and physical coordination.
• The children’s health, spirits and self-confidence improve rapidly. Constant contact is maintained with the families who also receive workshops on family responsibilities.
• The Nursery is run by a Director with preschool teacher in accordance with the requisites of the Bogota Mayor’s Office and ICBF (Colombian Family Welfare Institute) which also gives financial support.
