How You Can Help the Fundación Colombo-Británica

Before you learn how to help the Fundación, I urge you to read the first blog entry, "Introduction to the Fundación Colombo-Británica", which you can find on the right side of the page under "Archivos de Blog", to find out why you should help the Fundación. The first entry explains all the advantages your help will give these children at an absolutely crucial time in their lives.
Now, here's how you can help:

1. Subscribe to our email list by entering your email address in the email subscription box to the right, and click on "Subscribe". Spread the word to everyone you can about the Fundación. The blog will be updated regularly with profiles of the children, as well as videos and photos.
2. Donate by clicking on one of the three "Comprar Ahora" buttons on the right of the page. Right now the Fundación is facing a nearly 60 million peso (roughly 30,000 US dollars) budget shortfall for the coming year. Any help you can give will help the Fundación stay open, and make sure these kids continue to have a safe, loving place to go every day.
As you can see, the donation options are:
1. buy milk for one child every day for a month (cost 15 US dollars);
2. buy three meals a day for one child every day for a month (cost 25 US dollars);
3. buy three meals a day plus all educational expenses every day for a month (cost 40 US dollars).

When you click on the "Comprar ahora" button, you will be taken to the webpage for Mercadopago Colombia, which is the Colombian version of PayPal. You will need to sign up for a MercadoPago account. MercadoPago is a secure website which never allows vendors to see your personal or financial information.

To create an account, follow these Spanish-English translations. If you don't understand Spanish, following these directions will take a considerable amount of patience; please know how much we appreciate your time and support:
1. Stay on the side of the page which says, "Nuevo en Mercado Pago?" (New to MercadoPago?).
- Step 1 is "Completa Los Datos Del Pago" (Payment Details). Disregard the part which says, "Cargos o Descuentos Adicionales".
- Under "Medios de Pago" (Method of Payment), you will have to choose the type of card you are using and choose the number of "cuotas" (installments) you wish to pay in.
- You will see the price of your purchase ("Total a Pagar") in Colombian pesos. The exchange rate is a little less than 2000 pesos for one American dollar.

2. Step 2 is "Inscríbete en MercadoPago para completar tu compra" (Sign Up for Mercado Pago to Complete Your Purchase).
- You have to enter your Email twice ("Email" and "Repetir tu Email"), as well as your Password ("Clave").
- Then you must enter personal information:
a. your first name ("nombre");
b. your last name ("apellido");
c. your country ("Pais de Residencia");
d. your ID number from your driver's license or passport (choose "CE", then enter your ID number);
e. your state or province ("Departamento");
f. your city ("Ciudad");
g. your phone number ("Telefono"). Disregard "Anexo".

3. Step 3 is to enter the numbers and letters you see at the bottom of the page, and click on "Aceptar y Continuar" (Accept and Continue).

4. After you click on "Aceptar y Continuar", you will be taken to a page where you will enter your payment details. You must enter:
a. your card number ("Numero de Tarjeta");
b. your expiration date ("Vencemiento");
c. your security code ("Codigo de Seguridad");
d. your first and last name ("Nombre y Apellido);
e. your ID card number ("Documento"), choose "CC" and enter your driver's license or passport number;
f. the issue date of your ID ("Fecha de Expedicion");
g. your address ("Direccion");
h. your city ("Ciudad");
i. your neighborhood, which can be the same as your city ("Barrio");
j. your country ("Pais");
k. your state ("Departamento");
l. your phone number ("Telefono").

5. You will then click "Realizar Pago" (Make Payment) at the bottom of the page.
-That will take you to a page where you will confirm the price, and then choose the option of "Retiro el Articulo por Mi Cuenta" (you agree not to have what you are purchasing sent to you, because you are buying it for the children at the Fundacion).
- You will then click on "Continuar" (Continue), which will take you to a page which tells you they will confirm your purchase in 48 hours by email ("Dentro de las próximas 48 hs hábiles te informaremos por e-mail si tu pago fue autorizado.")
